Sometimes it happen that a user called the helpdesk and said he isn´t receiving emails on his BlackBerry. There is a very quick and easy way to check if everything is working (so that it might be a problem on the device itself).

1.) create a new email (e.g. from your Lotus Notes client) to the user (to his personal email address)

2.) add the string "<confirm>" in the subject for example "<confirm> this is a BlackBerry test email".

3.) send the email to the user.

If everything is working you got a email similar to this one here back:

Your message:

TO: This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it
Sent: Tue Mar 09 10:26:49 2010
Subject: <confirm> this is a BlackBerry test email

has been delivered to the recipient's BlackBerry Handheld.

Note:

If you use <$confirm, removeondelivery> then the message you have send to the user is deleted on the mailsystem, but will stay visible on the device!

Attention:

This way is currently not documented in any RIM manual. So it might be that this function is removed/changed in the future!
