During a Lotus Notes 8.5.2 rollout I found out that there is a bug in the setup.exe from the Lotus Notes 8.5.2 installer kit.

The bug prevent the installer from using a MST file like mentioned in my installation guide here:

<----------- cut ----------->

13 II a.) modifize setup.ini

Another way to install lotus notes is to modifize the setup.ini

13 II b.) open the setup.ini in the lotus notesfolder

13 II c.) change the "CmdLine=" entry to "CmdLine= TRANSFORMS=mytransformfile.mst /qb+" to install Lotus Notes silently without user interaction or to "CmdLine= TRANSFORMS=mytransformfile.mst" if you wish to allow the user to change some options during installation.

<----------- cut ----------->

Together with IBM I was able to reproduce the issue and they build a hotfix for that issue which is working for me.

If you have similar issues, please get in contact with your local IBM Support, to request your own hotfix (please mention the SPR BWWG88P524 or the URL here, so that the support knows what you need).

=========================================================
The issue has been reported to Lotus QE as SPR # BWWG88P524 via APAR # LO54305.

IBM says there is no hotfix for this problem...
Hi, here was IBM's reply to me. I'm not sure if you were also advised to use this switch though. Is there a chance you can send me that hotfix IBM sent you? IBM's reply:

Hello Mardell,

This is not a match to SPR BWWG88P524.
The SPR is for defining in the Transform within the setup.ini file. The SPR advises of the workaround of using the command:
setup.exe /s /v"TRANSFORMS=all.mst"
If you can try the following command:
setup /s /v"TRANSFORMS=preloader.mst"
Note: no space after the first quote
Does this then work?

Kind Regards

I'm not sure if you were advised to use the same switch as above and the mst file here - http://www-01.ibm.com/support/...g21424193. I did try the one on their technote but it also did not work. Will you be able to send me a copy of the hotfix they gave you?

Thanks,
Mardell

IBM said there is no hotfix...
for this particular issue. I pointed out the articles you wrote and the SPR you mentioned but they kept on suggesting I use the switch in this technote - http://www-01.ibm.com/support/...wg21424193 - which is not working at all. Their last reply asked me if I could send them your mst file, which also baffled me. I posted a comment here a few days ago but it did not seem to have been published. I was asking if you could instead send me the hotfix they gave you so I can resume testing?

Thanks very much.
